ACTIVATION ISSUES:

- When I tried to run the game a window tells me I need an Activation Code.
- You need to create an account to get your Activation Code.
1) Click the "Create Account" button.
2) Enter all the information requested, including the Registration Number printed on the paper insert that came with your game.
3) Once you've created your account you should be presented with your Activation Code.
|
- My Activation Code no longer works.
- If you have previously activated the game on another computer you will need to deactivate it on the old computer before you can activate it on the new one. If you no longer have access to the old computer or cannot complete the steps below, contact us at support@saynplay.com
1) On the old computer, hold the shift key and start the game, you should be presented with an activation window.

AUDIO / MICROPHONE ISSUES:
|
- The game scores most responses wrong when they should be performing acceptably.
- Make sure your microphone is plugged in properly.
- Make sure you are using the headset and not external speakers while playing the game as the sounds from the game could interfere with recognition if played loudly.
- Make sure you are in a quiet place while playing the game.
- If the user has significant speech problems or is very young (4-5) you might want to try moving them to Easy difficulty from the Options, accessed from the title screen.
- Verify that you have your external microphone selected and not an internal microphone.
- Some machines have very low microphone input max volumes by default, but have a "Microphone Boost" option that can increase the maximum volume. Try setting this.
|
- The game is too hard in Free Play mode.
- Free Play scores very differently from Lesson Mode. Free play is intended for users capable of producing most phonemes well that just want to practice. It scores on every consonant phoneme in a word. Lesson mode lets you select which phonemes to work on, and only scores on those phonemes, only in the positions indicated by your progress.

|
- I broke my headset. Now what?
- We provide replacement headsets that you can purchase through our website. Please visit our website for more information.
|
- Why does the player have to say the word multiple times on some words?
- Speech recognition technology is not perfect. There will always be a margin of error in our analysis. The game is intended as a practice tool that is not a replacement for a speech therapist. Because we can always expect there to be a margin of error, we always give the player three attempts for each prompt.
|
- The player is not producing some phonemes perfectly, but it's saying they got it right.
- Again, our technology is not perfect. We have balanced our analysis extensively to weed out most incorrect utterances while accepting most correct utterances, however, there are some cases where productions are very similar and can score well even if they were not the target phoneme. If you are looking for higher accuracy in weeding out scores, set your difficulty to "Hard" in the options menu.

VIDEO ISSUES:
|
- I meet the requirements for the game, but it doesn't run very well on my machine.
- First, make sure you have updated video drivers. This is the main reason the game would run poorly. Please visit the support site for the manufacturer of your computer and download the latest drivers for your video card, or visit the site of the manufacturer of your video card and download drivers there. If that does not solve the problem and you are seeing good frame rates, but some mouse lag, try running the game in full-screen instead of windowed mode.
|
- The screen is split in half and I'm seeing double.
- Please visit the support site for the manufacturer of your computer and download the latest drivers for your video card, or visit the site of the manufacturer of your video card and download drivers there.

|
- I've updated my video drivers and the game still runs poorly.
- Go to Start -> Run and type "dxdiag" and click "OK". Click the Display 1 tab and click "Test Direct3D". If it reports a conflict with another application to you, please disable that application while attempting to run Say-N-Play (for instance, if you run Microsoft NetMeeting while attempting to play Say-N-Play, it will cause conflicts with the game).
- If you still have problems, check that you have hardware acceleration turned on:
1) Right click on your desktop and select "Properties". Alternatively you can go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel and select "Appearance and Themes" followed by "Display", or in classic mode just select "Display".
2) Select the "Settings" tab at the top of the window.
3) Now press the "Advanced" button at the bottom right corner of the window.
4) Select the "Troubleshoot" tab at the top of the window.
5) Move the slider for hardware acceleration all the way over to the right (Full).
6) Now try running the game again.

PRINT ISSUES:
|
- When I click print, nothing happens.
- Say N Play uses the default printer you have selected for your machine. Make sure you select the printer you wish to use from the Control Panel.
|
- Colors do not print correctly.
- Click Options on the Title Screen. Turn on "Fix Print Color". Your progress charts and sticker book scenes should now print correctly.
